I like San Fran -3 over Arizona and here’s why: The Cardinals are coming off an upset in last week in New York, but they only won only because the Giants are terrible. Take away a punt return for a touchdown and the 4 to nothing turnover margin and this game isn’t won so decisively. Don’t expect the 49’ers to roll over the die like the Giants did, the Niners will make them earn it. More than likely Stanton will be starting this game, but even if Palmer plays – he’s unlikely to go the entire game.

The Cardinals haven’t covered in 7 straight appearances after having a 4-0 turnover margin in their favor. All of these games were straight up losses, with them no covering by more than two touchdowns on average.

The 49’ers would be 2-0 if it weren’t for QB Kaepernick losing his mind and throwing 3 horrible interceptions; add in a fumble by the young QB and you have all the makings of an embarrassing outing. They ended up getting outscored 21-0 in the 4th quarter. After allowing 3 points or more in the 4th quarter, the Niners are an incredible 12-0-1 against the spread in their next game. Expect the 49’ers to come out playing hard and try to make amends for the sins they committed this past weekend.

This is also a favorable scheduling matchup for the Niners, as they’re on the road and have the luxury of playing back-to-back games at home the following weeks. In these situations they’ve covered in 7 straight games – heavily outscoring their opponents by nearly three touchdowns on average, with every win by at least a touchdown.

Now is the time to get my handicapping selections.
