JOSH GORDON WILL NOT START CAMP WITH THE BROWNS

Beleaguered Cleveland Brown wide receiver Josh Brown will not start camp with the team and will instead continue in a substance abuse treatment program. Brown posted the the following on his twitter accounts …

“To my Cleveland Browns and NFL Family, I am reaching out to you all personally to let you know that I am not only doing great physically but mentally as well.”

“You will notice that I will not be in Cleveland for the start of training camp. Rest assured that this part of my overall health and treatment plan. I appreciate the awesome support that I have received from teammates, friends, fans, and the Brown’s organization. Just like you, I’m excited to start the season and I have every intention of being ready to and available to join my teammates soon and to help bring winning football to the fans.”

Gordon has played just 10 games over the last four years after leading the NFL in receiving in 2013 with 1646, yards. He has received several suspensions for violating the league’s substance abuse policy and sat out the entire 2015 and 2016 seasons. Gordon is now in Stage III of the league’s drug program and subject to up to 10 random drug tests a month. ESPN sources are reporting this move to be preemptive and that Gordon is working hard to stay sober.
