JAMEIS WINSTON SUSPENDED THREE GAMES FOR PERSONAL CONDUCT VIOLATION

The NFL has officially suspended Tampa Bay Buccaneer quarterback Jameis Winston for the first three games of the 2018 season for a violation of its personal conduct policy. Winston has been in the news of late for allegedly inappropriately groping an Uber driver in March of 2016. Winston, who was extremely intoxicated at the time, denies any guilt in the incident but has apologized to the Uber driver for putting her in an impossible situation.

An investigation by the NFL concluded that Winston had violated the personal conduct policy for “touching the driver in an inappropriate manner without her consent”. Winston could have been subjected to a suspension of six games but took a plea. The suspension is without pay and Winston has waived his appeal. Winston was also required to be co-operative in a clinical evaluation and to submit to any therapeutic recommendation. Failure to comply could result in further league discipline and another similar result incident could result in up to and including banishment from the league.
