EAGLES EXTEND COACH AND GM THROUGH 2022 SEASON

The Philadelphia Eagles announced Sunday that they are extending the contracts of HC Doug Pedersen and GM Howie Roseman through 2022. The tandem led the franchise to it’s first Super Bowl title in February. Terms of the deals were not announced.

Roseman has been with the Eagles in some capacity since coming on to the organization as a salary cap assistant and working his way up through player personnel. He became GM in 2010 but was reassigned during the brief Chip Kelly era. Roseman returned to GM after Kelly was let go and promptly hired Doug Pedersen as head coach.

Pedersen was a former Eagle quarterback that served on the Andy Reid staff from 2009 through 2012, following Reid to Kansas City in 2013. Pedersen is known in the league for his creative offensive schemes and his ability to put his players in a position to succeed. This was proven out by Eagle backup QB Nick Foles who took over after an injury to starter Carson Wentz and went on to guide the Eagles to a Super Bowl win over New England and the MVP.

Roseman and Pedersen were both under contract and off the championship, undoubtedly had a free roll in Philadelphia for years to come. Eagle owner Jeffrey Lawrie guaranteed the growth and continuity of the franchise for the next five years by taking care of his guys.
